Executive Chef

Milesian Manor Lifestyle Care Home, based in Magherafelt is currently recruiting for an experienced Executive Chef.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing team members within the Kitchen and ensuring that wholesome and nutritious meals are delivered following a structured menu plan and allowing for individual dietary needs/choices to be catered for.
Key Responsibilities:
To be the senior liaison point for the department and deal with issues other senior management members may raise. Supervises, organises, and instructs kitchen staff and manages the whole kitchen or an area of the kitchen.
Innovate and implement new ideas for the Kitchen.
Organise the overall kitchen operation to ensure the efficient functioning of the department.
Proactively manage the kitchen staff to ensure meals of a high standard are produced at all times within the Home.
Responsible for the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for residents.
Maintain a high standard of hygiene and food safety in the kitchen and store with records of cleaning maintained.
Ensure kitchen assistants are proactive in their duties especially cleaning requirements.
Ensure meals are served in consistency required and as attractively as can be presented.
Liaise with Nursing Staff regarding residents’ choice of foods, dietary needs, and special occasions.
Fully conversant and compliant with COSHH regulations, and ensures that kitchen staff are conversant and compliant.
Ensures relevant hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained within the kitchen at all times.
Fully conversant and compliant with the Company’s health & safety, infection control, hygiene, and fire prevention procedures, and ensures that kitchen staff are conversant and compliant.
About the role
Essential Criteria:
Food Hygiene & COSHH training.
Be in good general medical health.
Must have a good command of written and spoken English.
Ability to communicate with the elderly.
Maintain a high level of communication and cooperation with other departments.
Exceptional organisational skills
Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with other staff.
Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
High standard of personal presentation and attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous management experience.
Minimum three years experience in a similar role.
