For this role you must be fully flexible Monday to Sunday. You will be allocated shifts on a rotational basis. You must be able to work a combination of 8am - 8pm, 8am - 2pm and 2pm - 8pm.
You will not be able to provide us with your availability and we cannot allocate you preferred shifts. Please consider this carefully before applying.

The Home
Pond Park Care Home is situated on the rural outskirts of Lisburn in a lovely scenic area. It is a 52-bedded care home split over 3 units including General Nursing and General Dementia Nursing. The staff at Pond Park Care Home holistically exhibit a trained and committed team who work collaboratively across the Home. Varying cultural backgrounds bring together different experiences and specialties to provide a very high-quality service based on friendship and support. Pond Park Care Home celebrates individuality and supports the needs of the residents to add to the feeling of being home and being part of something special.
The Role
Care Assistants at Healthcare Ireland play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our Homes, providing essential support and assistance to residents to ensure their wellbeing and comfort. Care Assistants are part of our frontline team, responsible for delivering personalised care and assistance with activities of daily living.
Our Care Assistants also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion, an advocacy for the rights and preferences of residents.
Collaborating with Nurses, the Wellbeing Team, families and external healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and person-centred care, Care Assistants are essential in our mission to provide excellent care.
About the role
Main Responsibilities
Assist qualified staff with care plans, tasks and activities to support the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
Participate in activities, motivating and supporting residents to get involved.
Assist residents with eating, drinking, washing, dressing and going to the toilet.
Assess and observe the emotional and physical wellbeing of residents, recognising changes and reporting as necessary in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records, communicating effectively with residents and their families.
Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

What you will need
Required criteria
- To be a good listener, showing patience, compassion, empathy and understanding
- A good standard of written and oral English
- The Right to Work in the UK
- Be NISCC registered or eligible to register
Desired criteria
- Qualifications in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Previous experience within a care setting
- Educated to NVQ 2 level is desirable
