Accounts Assistant
We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team at Healix based in Esher. The Accounts Assistant will support the finance team by performing various accounting tasks. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The successful candidate will contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records.
What we are looking for:
Intermediate computer skills (Outlook Email, Word and Excel, V-Lookups, Pivot tables) required for the role
Organisational skills, reliable and highly accurate with numbers
Ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage projects
Strong team player, have a good work ethic & remain professional at all times
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
1 year’s experience in a finance role
Completed studies to AAT 2 level or equivalent
About the role
The main purpose of this role is to support the Managements Accounts team with day to day duties including (but not limited to) –
Invoice Processing:
Receive, verify, and process invoices.
Ensure proper coding and authorization of invoices.
Perform weekly/ monthly payment runs (BACs, CHAPS, foreign currency) & input payments into online banking system.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable.
Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies.
Prepare and send out customer invoices and statements.
Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments.
Bank Reconciliation:
To ensure bank receipts and payments are properly recorded and reconciled.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
Data Entry and Maintenance:
Processing accounting records efficiently within the accounting system, Access Dimensions
Maintain and update accounting records and files.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
Prepare supporting documentation for audits.
General Support:
Provide administrative support to the finance team.
To support all colleagues across the businesses including claims and customer care teams, senior management and accounts team
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Handle queries related to financial transactions.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Completed studies to AAT 2 level or equivalent.
- 1 year’s experience in a finance role
