Role Overview: Yard Operative/Handyperson
As a Yard Operative at Wernick Hire, you play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our depot. Your responsibilities include carrying out various tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and preparation of modular buildings and site accommodation units. With a focus on efficiency and safety, you'll ensure that all activities are conducted to the highest standards, contributing to the overall success of the depot.

About the role
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning, painting, and general maintenance of cabins/buildings as instructed.
Servicing of mobile welfare units as required.
Conduct site visits to carry out repairs as necessary.
Ensure all furniture is checked on return to the yard, removed from cabins, and put back into storage.
Maintain the forklift truck in good and serviceable condition.
Minimise material wastage.
Assist in the safe loading and unloading of cabins/buildings and materials.
Maintain good housekeeping in the yard and workshop at all times.
Adhere to current health and safety legislation.
Skills and Experience
Experience in plumbing, joinery, or electrical work (suitable for a handyperson).
Ability to multitask and prioritize a busy workload.
Must have license and own transport due to the location of the depot
