Injection Moulding Machine Setter

Reporting to the Team Leader, Drainage Products the successful candidate will be required to have a ‘hands on’ approach to machine setting, process optimisation and also address Quality related issues on a day-to-day basis. Duties will include new process introductions, process improvements for cost reduction or capacity expansion and production fault analysis. This position will be on a shift basis.

About the role

Main tasks and duties

Monitor performance against planned schedules and specific standards including cycle time and Quality Assurance and act against variances in order to achieve maximum efficiency;

Maximises the utilisation of raw materials through efficient machine operation;

Ownership of all activities within the moulding element of new product / process introductions;

Conduct material evaluations, analysis and selection recommendations;

Coordinate installation, commissioning and process development / optimisation for moulds and ancillary equipment;

Conduct process validations in accordance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements;

Monitor and trend production process for utilisation, waste and efficiency and propose process improvement projects;

Conduct routine Autonomous maintenance checks;

Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental considerations are observed and enforced.

 

 

What you will need

Required criteria

  • At least 4 years’ experience in an Injection Moulding with a hands-on machine setting role.
  • experience of structured process improvement and problem solving techniques within an injection moulding environment
  • direct experience of a “real time” machine monitoring system
  • ability to complete autonomous maintenance on IMM’s
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • good interpersonal and communication skills

Desired criteria

  • 3rd level qualification in a polymer science or mechanical engineering or some other related discipline
  • experience of working with PVC & Polypropylene polymers
  • a good working knowledge of Windows based software
