Flexible hours by agreement | Permanent | Cookstown

Salary:  £33k to £35 depending on experience, plus pension and benefits.

About the role

The Role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the golf club team as the General Manager.  Reporting to the Honorary Secretary and Club Council the General Manager will be responsible for the day to day operational and administrative functions of the club including financial, administrative, and human resource management.  The successful applicant will also manage and optimise the resources of the Club within the strategic framework set by the Council. The role will oversee, with the assistance of the Finance committee, preparation and development of the club’s budget and financial planning.

The Person:

The successful candidate must have an appreciation of golf and its’ traditions in a private members Club.  A proven track record in management is a must, an innovative thinker with strong leadership skills and motivation to ensure that the Club’s facilities are presented to the highest standards to members and visitors alike.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Do you have experience working in a similar supervisory or management role either in a golf club or within the hospitality trade?
  • Are you financially literate, and a knowledge of Sage would be advantageous.
  • Do you have an understanding of day-today golf club administration?
  • Are you IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office, understanding of network functions, servers and file management?
  • Do you have a flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work under pressure

Desired criteria

  • Do you have a third level degree or professional qualification.
  • Do you have a knowledge of The Clubs Act. Employment Law and Health and Safety Legislation General Golf Club Organisation, the Game of Golf and its Rules?
  • Do you have knowledge of BRS Golf – Electronic Tee Booking system?
  • Do you have knowledge of ClubV1 – Membership management system?
  • Are you able to use marketing software such as Canva or similar?
  • Are you able to use social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram etc.?
