Financial Controller

The Moran Group having established a growth plan which will involve the construction and development of a significant number of projects, is recruiting for a talented Financial Controller to join the management team.
Hospitality portfolio comprises of the four star Red Cow Moran Hotel, Red Cow Inn and Wren Urban Nest.

Role Profile:
The Financial Controller will report directly to the Director of Finance. S/He will be a key member of the management team within the Finance Department and will work with the Director of Finance and other senior managers within the department in delivering on its strategic objectives in the context of the overall strategy.
Objective of the Role:
· Work in conjunction with the Financial Director to provide effective operational finance and commercial support to the Group
· Ensure a rigorous financial control and reporting environment exists within the group.
· Management of the day-to-day finance operation within the group
· To drive and implement change and improvement to benefit the group.
About the role
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Finance office reporting daily to the Financial Director
· Have responsibility for accurate accounting records and provide financial reports for the Group.
· Regularly review the Balance Sheet, ensuring reconciliations are performed of all controlled accounts and that all balances are explained.
· Drive accountability for controls into the relevant departments to enable Finance to act as reviewer and advisor of best practice.
· Continual review and development of best practice Financial Accounting and Control procedures to maximise impact and efficiency.
· Ensure compliance with Policies and Procedures.
· Management of all Financial queries from internal and external parties
· Assist with the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
· Oversee and review the income audit daily/weekly.
· Oversee and review the reconciliation of bank account on a weekly basis.
· Prepare and file VAT returns as required.
· Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets, monthly and weekly forecasts.
· Management of the weekly and monthly payroll including analysis and control.
· Implementation of various cost control measures and overhead management.
· Ensure reporting that incorporates benchmarking, identification and measurement of key performance indicators.
· Ensure reporting is timely, accurate and consistent with the financial accounts and that P&L/Balance sheets reconcile to the trial balance.
Requirements:
· We are looking for an ambitious, confident and professional individual with strong communication, organisational, analytical and people management skills.
· The ideal candidate will demonstrate accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality industry or food and beverage environment.
· The ideal candidate will be a qualified or part qualified accountant.
· Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures with strong internal control awareness
· Demonstrate Initiative

· The candidate should have a professional accounting designation, and 2+ years progressively responsible experience culminating in a senior financial position in a related sector.
· Experience in liaising with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills will be key.
