Management Accountant

We are now recruiting for an Management Accountant to join our growing team.
You will work as part of the finance team to maintain accurate accounting records, responsible for the timely preparation of management accounts, develop and maintain product costing records, monitor contract profitability, and provide timely management information in the operation of the business.
About the role
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1) Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting records, including preparation and posting of journals to General Ledger
2) Independent Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts including provision of variance analysis
3) Reconciliation of Balance Sheet items to supporting records and documentation, taking corrective action when required
4) Integration with all departments (sales, despatch, production, etc) to ensure accurate and timely control of the financial impact of transactions impacting stock, rebates, complaints, etc
5) Management of Credit Control and Accounts Payable teams.
6 ) Preparation of VAT (both UK & ROI) returns, Aggregate Levy returns, DCPL, PPT and any required Customs declarations within the required deadlines ensuring full reconciliation back to accounting records
7) Preparation of carbon calculator including liaison with suppliers to obtain relevant consumption figures
8) Compiling information for completion of statistical government returns and statutory returns as required
9) Preparation of any government grant claims
10) Ensure that internal procedures and controls are consistently applied and help develop improved systems (AX and other systems) in a rapidly changing business environment
11) Assisting in the generation of information for annual budgeting process
12) Assisting in the provision of information to external auditors
13) Any other duties and tasks commensurate with the role and/or as required by the Manager within your capabilities.

What you will need
Required criteria
- At least 3 years experience within a commercial accounts environment.
- Fully conversant with Financial and Management Accounting principles and techniques.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
- Works well on own initiative and as part of a team in a highly challenging and demanding work environment
- A high degree of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint).
- Can travel to and from work areas
- Good time keeper
- Flexibility to work overtime as and when required
- Qualified for any of the following accountancy qualifications: •ACA •ACCA • CIMA or if unqualified 10 years relevant experience will be considered
