This is an exciting role where we welcome people with all levels of experience, but applicants must be a self-starter, able to converse with people at all levels, understand data, plan their day and be willing to manage the guest hospitality function remit.

The role is primarily based in Liverpool L4, with regular calls and visits to our 30+ care homes. Success in healthcare business development is essential, and you'll collaborate with the marketing team and home managers to uphold high standards and deliver exceptional experiences for residents and families. Strong administrative and organizational skills are crucial for managing enquiries, events, social media content, and reviews. We welcome applicants of all experience levels, but self-motivation, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage PR pipelines are key. Content creation abilities for news articles, blogs, and award submissions are highly valued.

About the role

Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

  •  Working as part of a team to drive a friendly, welcoming culture in relation to the customer journey.

  • Visiting and engaging face-to-face with our care homes on a regular basis, delivering high standards.

  • Ensure each home meets the standards expected, look and feel of the home environment, and first impressions.

  • Support the marketing team with increasing occupancy across all homes.

  • New Business: Proactively research, identify, and generate ideas for increasing private pay lead-gen enquiries.

  • Support the home manage and regional teams in converting enquiries to sales.

  • Update and report on enquiry management using ‘CareVision’ and other software.

  • Work closely with building relationships with referring social care teams.

  • Support the centralised marketing team and local ‘home’ level activities staff.

  • Managing annual PR content plan and schedules, proofreading, editing and posting; Content creation may also include photography, newsletters, blogs, PR drafts, uploading events onto our website and social channels.

  • Ensuring the organisations brand and tone of voice are always adhered to.

  • Build and update master file of journalist and publication contacts.

  • Managing posting on social media pages.

  • Website CMS admin and timely updates, engaging with audiences on social media.

  • Review social and website content and feed observations back to the team.

Essential Criteria

  • Exhibits strong customer service orientation with experience of guest services.

  • Confident self-starter, willing to liaise with staff colleagues and external businesses.

  • An ability to handle care home resident enquiries promptly and professionally.

  • People engagement/account management skills.

  • Strong copywriting skills with excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • To be well organised, able to plan and work to deadlines.

  • Highly reliable and professional in approach.

  • Able to use Microsoft products such as Outlook and Excel to a reasonable level.

  • Educated to at least A-level or equivalent grades, GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics at grade C or above.

  • To have a keen interest in social media, to be familiar with and regularly using multiple platforms: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn in particular.

Desirable Criteria

  • To have studied business orientated professional course/degree.

  • Some level of working within the older people’s and/or health care industry.

  • To have previous experience that involved PR and some marketing exposure.

  • Journalistic training and/or experience.

  • Ability to use a digital camera and frame photography to support written content.

  • Experience of digital design software to aid the creation of newsletters and other similar digital marketing collateral (Adobe InDesign, Canva etc).
