Chef

We are searching for a reliable, hardworking person who is able to work as part of a team or independently to provide high quality dishes to our care home residents.

We have am indefinite temporary/possible permanent opportunity, for the right person, to join our team working two days a week and covering annual leave, in our care home in Weymouth. With a maximum of 36 residents, our home is a close-knit friendly place to work.

The Role:

As Chef you will work closely with the care team and be responsible for ensuring high quality, home cooked meals that are adapted to meet the needs of our residents.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, have a good understanding of catering health and safety and a genuine passion for good, home-cooked food.

Experience of texture modified diets and nutrition would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be given. You will receive excellent support from our the head chef and attend training

About the role

What will YOU be doing?

  • Experience: as a Chef: 1 year (preferred)

    Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

  • Basic cooking skills required

  • Be aware of the resident's dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.

  • Be involved with the preparation of all meals

  • Wash up and dispose of waste correctly.

  • Contribute in the serving of food.

  • Ensure all food preparation and storage areas are kept clean as per programme.
