The Role:
Reporting to the Construction or Operations & Maintenance Manager, the Network Engineers are responsible for day to day construction activities, maintenance and safe operation of the firmus energy gas distribution network, ensuring the delivery of efficient and cost effective solutions.
About the role
Key duties:
Participate in the development, implementation and management of relevant operations procedures, maintenance programmes and quality plans
Liaising with internal & external contacts – sales & finance departments, local authorities & customers to ensure project delivery in line with expectations
Plan and undertake maintenance works on all gas apparatus and related equipment
Planning and supervision of day-to-day construction and operation activities on the firmus energy gas distribution system in accordance with current standards and regulations
Design and estimate network extensions, industrial, commercial, housing and alteration projects utilising network analysis to ensure efficient and cost effective solutions
Complaints management & resolution for related works
Preparation of and ensuring adherence to budgets including approval of payments to contractors
Preparation of Management Reports in line with firmus energy requirements
Participate in the 24 hour / 7 day Emergency Standby Rota
What you will need
Required criteria
- Experience within the Natural Gas industry with emphasis on experience in live gas operations
- Project Management / supervisory experience
- Streetworks Qualification – Supervisor level
- Excellent communication, IT and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Current full UK/EU driving licence
Desired criteria
- Participating on the on-call rota at supervisor level in a distribution gas environment
- Gas related qualifications or third level engineering qualification with gas experience
