About the role
Job Purpose
Control day-to-day purchasing of parts and services to the business, whilst ensuring the suppy of goods to the business is managed effectively, efficiently and at the lowest possible cost. Elevate supply chain working closely with Suppliers and Internal stakeholders to ensure all materials, outsourced components and plant hire required for Customer orders, stock and site are available when required and to specification, satisfying business requirements in terms of delivery, cost, quality and ultimately Customer Satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
· Creating purchase orders for materials or parts required as derived from the MRP system.
· Follow up on orders placed to get confirmed delivery dates and feedback information to ERP system.
· Expedite open purchase orders when required.
· Support Custom care team in escalation of matter regards overall delivery performance from suppliers both Direct and In-direct
· Support stores with receipting issues for Custom care orders
· Support Quality in escalation of quality performance from Suppliers
· Negotiate best value possible with own suppliers and support negotiation of the team when required.
· Escalate appropriate matters in a timely manner to procurement manager
· Actively support sourcing of new product and supplier to support business success
· Ensure data integrity (supplier pricing, planning data, etc.) within the company’s ERP system at all times.
· Report on key metrics including cost savings, supplier delivery (OTD), supplier quality, etc.
· Monitor Supplier performance and make improvements when necessary.
· Continually challenge and improve upon current practices and procedures.
· Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Monitor supply performance and make improvements where necessary.
· Ensure sufficient stock levels of core lines.
· Ensure supplier invoice queries are dealt with promptly to ensure continuity of supply.
· Provide appropriate demand forecast to supply base for custom care and feedback on capacity constraints.
· Work closely with parts coordinator team in terms of keeping updated on priority projects, as well as feedback supply chain opportunities and constraints in a timely manner.
· Live up to and promote CDE values and culture.
· Apply the minimum quality and environmental standards required under ISO 9001 and 14001 and the company Quality and Environmental standards.
· Day-to-day procurement activities as required.
· Any other appropriate tasks that the company requires.
What you will need
Required criteria
- HNC/HND/Degree educated (or equivalent) in an engineering or business-related subject
- Must have at least 3 years procurement / material planning experience within an after sales or manufacturing environment
- Ability to understand department KPI’s and work to help deliver the objectives of the dept.
- Previous experience in Supplier relationship Management
- Demonstrate experience of IFS or other ERP software
Desired criteria
- Member of CIPS
- Experience within the Quarrying or Recycling industries.
