Kitchen Assistant

Carrondale Care Home is situated on the banks of the River Carron in Carronshore on the outskirts of Falkirk.

We provide Complex Care for those between the age of 18 and 65., we additionally provide elderly nursing care for over 65's.

We are now currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team.

Role Specification

  • To organise and prepare the meals required by Benore Care Centre.

  • To ensure the highest possible standards of hygiene are maintained by all concerned.

  • To closely monitor the ordering and usage of all kitchen supplies.

  • Be responsible for assisting in the training of all staff within your department.

About the role

Principle Duties

  • Preparation and serving of daily meals.

  • Menu planning.

  • Assist with ordering, checking, accepting and storing all food deliveries.

  • Complete staff rotas ensuring adequate cover in the kitchen.

  • Staff awareness regarding rules, regulations and condition of work.

  • General co-operation to ensure that all jobs are completed by delegating, training and ensuring at all times a high standard of hygiene is maintained.

  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used correctly.

  • Ensuring that individual Service Users needs are met and catered for.

  • To check quality of food products.

  • Ensuring that cleaning and maintenance schedules are maintained and assisting in heavy duty cleaning.

  • Providing cover in all areas as required, maintaining adaptability.

  • To report maintenance faults to kitchen supervisor and any other problems.

  • Liaise with all those involved in the work at Benore Care Centre, thus ensuring a smooth running and efficient home.

  • To participate in any training and educational programmes provided.

  • To know the Fire Policy of the home and be fully aware of the positions of the fire alarms and equipment.

  • Be fully aware of your terms and condition of employment.
