Soils Intake Environmental Compliance Officer (South Region)
Applications are invited for the position of Environmental Compliance Officer as part of the Clay Intake Team based in the company Clay Recycling Office. The successful candidate will report to the Facility Manager.
About the role
The candidate will have the following specific responsibilities:
Assist in the compliance and reporting relating to the licence conditions of Roadstones EPA Licenced Inert Waste Recovery Facilities
Recording, documenting, and reporting the environmental performance of the licences. Report on monitoring data and planning/licence compliance.
Liaise with all stakeholders including the EPA, Local Authority, Management, customers, contractors, and staff
Develop and implement inspection policies and procedures, and schedule of routine inspections.
Assist in the day to day operation of EPA waste licenced facilities for the recovery of inert soil and stone
Sampling and assessment of sites from which inert soil and stone may be accepted
Track and trace imported materials for recovery. Scheduling site sample and testing
Assist in establishing Construction & Demolition permit operation throughout the company, achieving the highest standard of compliance and performance.
Setting the highest standard of environmental performance and compliance
Support Corporate environmental initiatives
Ensure that the Company and Corporate image is maintained and enhanced.
Candidates should ideally possess:
Team player with a positive attitude.
Environmental Qualification and / or NEBOSH certificate or similar experience
A driving licence will be required, as a company vehicle is supplied
Good communication skills, both IT and interpersonal
Experience in the waste management sector an advantage
Experience of Material sampling an advantage.
Proactive, organised, results driven and self-motivated
