Staff Nurse
Carrondale Care Home is situated on the banks of the River Carron in Carronshore on the outskirts of Falkirk.
We provide Complex Care for those between the age of 18 and 65., we additionally provide elderly nursing care for over 65's.
We are now currently recruiting for a Staff nurse to join our team.
Role Specification
To provide and maintain a high standard of individual care and comfort allowing the quality of life for the service users to be maximised in a caring supportive and friendly environment.
To work closely with the management and as a team with other members off staff on duty.
About the role
Principle Duties
To undertake the role of the Nurse in charge of the home.
To act as a resource person for all staff.
To supervise and actively assist in all aspects of service users care.
To participate in making sound clinical judgements.
To establish individual care for each service user by thorough assessment of needs and planning of care with participation from the key worker, service user and their relative or representative.
To ensure care is evaluated on a regular basis in participation with the service user, representative and their key worker.
To maintain and document accurate records of service user care.
To motivate and provide general support to care staff.
To ensure all service users receive appropriate care during each span of duty.
To liaise with other professionals as and when required, as service user needs change.
To co-operate and maintain good working relationships with all staff.
To develop good relationships with service users, relatives and visitors to the home.
To administer medication and adhere to the regulations regarding the administration, control and storage of medication as laid down by the Home’s policy and procedures, Pharmacy policy and the policies laid down by the U.K.C.C.
To participate in staff meetings at the request of the Home Manager.
To actively participate in training as required by Law or by the company‘s standards.
To participate in the induction process and the training of staff in accordance with the company’s training policy.
To comply with regulations in respect of Health and Safety at Work Act, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures.
To adhere to the requirements of COSHH.
To maintain confidentiality at all times regarding service users, their families, staff and the company.
To promote the good name of the home at all times.
To ensure knowledge and competence is maintained as required by P.R.E.P.
To order medication for service users as prescribed and for the home as required.
To demonstrate the Nurses Professional role.
To ensure a contented lifestyle is maintained for each service user and individual needs are met.
To abide by the Home’s Policies and Procedures and ensure these are adhered to by all staff.
To report all non-conformances and record the same in the appropriate manner.
To report any hazards or defects to the maintenance man or manager.
To report all complaints to the home manager however minor.
To undertake other duties as may be reasonably requested to ensure the smooth running of the home.
Offer any suggestions to the manager which may improve the service given or efficiency of the home.
Attend courses that are of benefit to the home and your P.R.E.P.
Smoking only in permitted areas at permitted times.
Ensure that all the Home’s philosophies are adhered to.
Be fully aware of your terms and conditions of employment.
