Stores Operative based at Furlough Road

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Stores Operative to support our Stores Supervisor. In this key role you will be responsible for the efficient storage, handling and distribution of materials, tools, equipment and products across the company.

You will play a key role in ensuring operations runs smoothly. This role requires you to operate a forklift to move inventory, ensuring stock is accurately recorded, safely stored and readily available to the production team, as required. Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

If you are a team player with experience in a warehouse or stores environment with a valid forklift licence, we want to hear from you.

About the role

As Stores Operative you will report to the Supply Chain Manager. Strong communication and teamwork alongside supervisors, team leaders and operatives and is essential to ensure the smooth running of the store.

This role involves extensive periods standing. You are required to operate effectively; maintaining products as required. It is imperative that you are aware of health and safety regulations and adhere to them at all times.  You are required to carry out all manual tasks with due attention to health & safety and quality.

Required criteria

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Valid forklift licence and capability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be literate and numerate and have an acceptable level of English, to include speaking, reading and writing
  • Must be able to work as a team member and have a positive attitude to work and others
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Good time keeping
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work on own initiative and identify and escalate matters that are outside of your remit
  • Ability to undertake responsibility and work on your own initiative
  • Strong awareness of Health and Safety

Desired criteria

  • Experience in using an ERP / MRP system
  • Experience with inventory management software and systems
