We have an exciting opportunity for an Night Porter to join our team.
The Fitzwilton Hotel
The Fitzwilton is a beautifully styled boutique hotel with modern designs, features and comforts throughout. It boasts 90 bedrooms and suites, contemporary in style, blending traditional woods with modern art and accessories, with many offering views across Waterford's cityscape and the River Suir.
Perfectly located a mere two minute stroll from the City’s main train and bus station, 5 minutes cycle from the start of the Waterford Greenway and a short walk from Waterford’s main shopping area and Viking Quarter
The Role:
Monitor and control access to the premises.
Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety of guests and the property.
Respond to and report any security incidents or suspicious activities.
Ensure that emergency procedures are followed in case of fire, theft, or other emergencies.
Perform fire walks.
Customer Service:
Greet and assist guests arriving or departing during late-night hours.
Handle check-ins and check-outs for late-night arrivals and early departures.
Provide information and assistance to guests regarding hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
Address guest enquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Administrative Tasks:
Handle late-night check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accuracy in billing and reservation details.
Complete any outstanding tasks from the day shift, such as room inspections or paperwork.
Maintain accurate records of guest interactions and incidents.
Set up breakfast room and or meeting rooms as required
Housekeeping Support:
Co-ordinate with housekeeping to address any guest requests for additional amenities or services.
Perform light cleaning duties in public areas as needed.
Ensure that public areas are tidy and presentable.
Prepare function rooms for the following day.
About this role
Requirements:
Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not essential.
Previous Bar/Restaurant experience preferred but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of hotel procedures and services.
Be available to work 4 nights minimum over 7 days of the week.
