About the role

The Role:

In this brand new role as Sector Lead – Healthcare, you will be the driving force behind Wernick Buildings work with NHS trusts and private healthcare providers. This national role offers the opportunity to lead major projects from concept to completion, helping shape the future of healthcare estates through modern methods of construction (MMC).

We are looking for the successful candidate to carry out the following tasks:  

  • Lead business development in the healthcare sector, securing new projects through frameworks such as NHS SBS and ProCure23.

  • Build strategic relationships with NHS procurement teams, consultants, architects, and contractors.

  • Oversee bids, tenders, and client presentations to achieve ambitious growth targets.

  • Act as the key point of contact for healthcare clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and fully compliant with HTM/HBN healthcare standards.

  • Champion modular innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence across the sector.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a Trust Engagement Plan, meeting with at least 10 NHS Trusts per quarter.

  • Generate a steady pipeline of qualified leads (20+ per month).

  • Drive tender success with a win rate of at least 30%.

  • Lead feasibility studies and technical presentations for Trust boards and estates teams.

  • Collaborate internally with design, estimating, construction, and manufacturing teams to ensure project success.

About You:

We’re looking for a driven, commercially focused individual with:

  • Experience working with UK healthcare construction standards (HTM/HBN) is desired.

  • Strong knowledge of working with NHS procurement frameworks and capital project delivery. (NHS SBS, ProCure23) is essential

  • Excellent client engagement, networking, and relationship-building skills.

  • Proven ability to win bids and deliver complex projects.

  • A passion for sustainability and innovation in construction.

  • Flexibility to travel nationally to meet clients and support projects.
