HV Maintenance Technician
The HV Maintenance Technician (HVMT) will be part of a 2x person team consisting of themselves and an HV Maintenance Engineer (HVME).
The HVMT will be part of a skilled team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and safety.
The candidate will have previous experience working in an electrical or engineering field. Work may be carried out onshore or offshore, therefore there is a requirement to go offshore with this position.

About this role
The HV Maintenance Technician will have responsibilities in the following four areas.
1. Processes
Execute electrical maintenance activities. This includes, but not limited to:
-HV and LV switchgear maintenance (LV – 400kV) (AIS, GIS, HIS)
-Transformer maintenance (LV - 400kV)
-Electrical testing
-Oil sampling and other mechanical works as required.
-Equipment replacement
-Supporting commissioning activities
Train to develop to operate as a Senior Authorised Person under the Ventus (And specific Clients when required) Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules to achieve Safety from the System for their work, and the work of others.
Provision of standby cover to support the Company’s Fault and Emergency Services
Development of core skills will be targeted including training in the range of fault location equipment and processes.
Interfacing with the administration team to deliver clients KPI’s whilst maintaining Health, Safety and Quality.
2. Customers
Supports the Company through developing and maintaining a strong relationship with clients and ensuring that the highest quality service is delivered.
3. Financials
Supporting the Company by capturing and communicating required information to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
Operating with a proactive approach to identify to the Company possible variations to existing contracts and/or new opportunities.
4. Employees
Develop and mentor junior technical and engineering staff.
Support the business with maintenance and fault emergency response.
PRIMARY TARGETS & KPIs
Support Company in achieving stated KPIs
SOC– Support reporting processes by regularly identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring near misses, safety observations etc. are reported.

What you will need
Required criteria
- Self-starter who is adept at working with cross-functional teams
- Highly personable with customer management skills
- Good working knowledge of Client/Contractor relationships and basic commercial awareness
- HV and LV equipment operation and maintenance
- Previous experience working in an electrical or engineering field
- Solution oriented approach
Desired criteria
- Senior Authorised Person on HV networks (authorisation preferably ENA MDSR)
- Related Trainings e.g. Siemens 8VM1, Weiz Transformer Training, Pfisterer, Nexans
