Business Development Manager - ROI

Location of Role: Leinster Area

Rule Purpose: Providing retailer support, auditing and reporting on store compliance, advising and implementing in-store promotional activity, range-reviews, merchandising, pricing strategy and operational effectiveness. With the main objective to grow the retailer’s business through turnover growth, margin management and cost controls while maximising and growing the business opportunity available to S&W.

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential customers

  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of new contacts to be made

  • Advise and guide stores on areas such as pricing, product range and margin.

  • Advise and assist with promotional activity and merchandising within stores.

  • Improve operational effectiveness within stores – including budget and margin management

  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity

  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned

  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts

  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships

  • Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services

  • Identify and resolve customer concerns

  • Prepare a variety of reports, including, closings, follow up, and adherence to goals

  • Communicate new opportunities, special developments, information or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate team members

  • Liaise with our credit control team and follow up for collection of payment

What you will need

Required criteria

  • GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
  • Min 3 years’ experience managing a Convenience/ Large format store environment.
  • Experience of managing and operating a Food to Go location – including pricing, budgeting and range selection.
  • Experience of achieving sales budgets and targets – maximising new business opportunities
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the convenience retail market in ROI.
  • High level of expertise in use of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of retail EPOS systems
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Able to manage a high-volume workload.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Customer focused
  • Self-motivated
  • Clam and professional manner
  • Able to operate outside core hours when required and travel to other sites on occasions.
