Purpose of the Job

  •  To contribute to the turnover and profitability of the Fitzgerald Group by ensuring all customers experience a satisfying visit and receive the highest standard of goods and services by being attentive, responsive and anticipate the customers’ needs while creating and maintaining customer friendly relationships.

  •  Assist in the day to day planning and organising of the premises, ensuring manpower, are available. To assist in the day to day management of the workforce, deputising for the Assistant manager as required.

  •  Identify any training needs of staff and deliver ‘on job’ shadow training through service as appropriate. Supervise and motivate your team to ensure performance of staff is developed to the best of their potential.

About the role

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To ensure all customers receive the highest standard of service in a quick, efficient and courteously manner.

  • Check customers’ identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.

  • Check-in and engage with customers to ensure that everything is going well, and identify up selling opportunities on every occasion. 

  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies and keep bar organised, stocked and clean.

  • To ensure that all service areas of the premises is kept clean and tidy at all times. 

  • To have a professional neat appearance and follow the groups strict dress code. Must insure you wear in the manner intended any personnel protective equipment provided for the prevention of injury.

  • To ensure that all staff are fully trained and that staff performance and development is monitored and recorded to ensure highest of standards are been met.

  • To insure all staff members are kept up to date with products and promotions.

  • Conduct, participate and engage in performance and development reviews on a regular basis with your manager and undertake any training relevant to the role including areas such as dealing with difficult confrontational situations.

  • To assist in the generation of staff rosters as instructed by management. 

  • Uses Initiative and the ability to create working relationships with colleagues and team members. Have effective communication skills with both customers and staff

  • In liaison with the Assistant Manager and Manger prioritise and allocate work to optimise the use of the workforce and resources available. Keep effective control measures in place in relation to stock, cash handling and overheads.

  • To report any defects immediately to Management and to bring to the immediate notice of management any potential danger to safety or the environment

  • To carry out reasonable instructions and any additional duties as outlined and detailed by the Management

  • Contribute to and help communicate decisions, ideas and methods to your team whilst working alongside them.

  • To be aware and implement all the groups policies and procedures.

  • To make sure that training and coaching is provided to your staff and that corrective actions are implemented including the following areas but not limited to health and safety procedures, security procedures, Environmental hygiene, cash handling and till procedures, dress code including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), stock control. Also tracking and recording of any updates or changes made to these policies and procedures as the company deem necessary or for any inspections that may take place.

  • To be aware and compliant with all relevant legislation in areas including but not limited to employment, health and safety, fire, licensing, gambling, tobacco and food hygiene regulations.

  • Attend staff communication meetings as required.

  • To be punctual, reliable and trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality at all times in respect of all Fitzgerald Group related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.
