Financial Controller - Donegal - Full Time
Overview
The Group Financial Controller oversees the financial operations within the Gallen Group which comprises of 3 hotels and a bar.
This role ensures financial efficiency, compliance with regulations, and accurate reporting while supporting strategic decision-making to enhance profitability.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
Oversee the preparation and presentation of consolidated financial statements for the group.
Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasts across all properties.
Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to senior management.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Assist with the implementation, and monitoring of budgets for individual properties and the group as a whole.
Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
Collaborate with senior managers to align operational goals with financial plans.
Compliance and Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards.
Strategic Planning
Partner with the executive team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across multiple properties.
Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Facilitate training sessions to ensure teams are up-to-date with best practices and regulatory changes.
Operational Support
Work closely with operational managers to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Monitor and control operational costs, including payroll, procurement, and utilities.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Proven experience managing multi-property financial operations.
- Familiarity with local taxation, labor laws, and financial reporting requirements for the hospitality sector.
Desired criteria
- Proficiency in financial systems and hotel-specific software
