Hours: 35 hours Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend flexibility when required
Compensation: £26,000-£30,000 DOE

About the role
The Cruise Operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of cruise vessel visits to the Port of Tilbury and London Central Moorings. Acting as the central coordination point, the role is responsible for managing the administrative, operational, and customer service aspects of each visit, ensuring a seamless experience for cruise lines, passengers, and stakeholders.
Working closely with internal departments, agents, and external partners, the postholder will support the planning and execution of cruise operations from initial enquiry through to post-departure reporting. The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment, ensuring the highest standards of service and operational efficiency are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Coordination
Act as the primary point of contact for cruise liner enquiries relating to vessel visits.
Manage the end-to-end enquiry and booking process for cruise vessels calling at the Port of Tilbury and London Central Moorings.
Support the planning and delivery of cruise operations, including attending and assisting on-site when required.
Liaise with internal teams, port stakeholders, service providers, and external partners to ensure smooth and efficient vessel turnaround.
Coordinate and oversee agency operations to ensure high standards of performance and service delivery.
Administration & Reporting
Prepare, process, and maintain documentation relating to cruise vessel calls and associated operational activities.
Collate revenue charges and issue invoices in line with company procedures and timelines.
Support the Head of Cruise with budget monitoring, including tracking revenue and expenditure.
Maintain accurate statistical records and prepare operational reports as required.
Compile and distribute pre-arrival and post-departure documentation and operational updates.
Gather and analyse customer feedback to support continuous service improvement.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cruise lines, shipping agents, and key stakeholders.
Support the promotion of the Company’s cruise offering through social media and marketing initiatives.
Assist in the planning and coordination of cruise-related events, providing support to organisers where required.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised individual who is confident managing both operational coordination and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with cruise lines, agents, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with data and producing reports, with strong IT skills and the ability to analyse information to support operational planning and decision-making. You will be calm, methodical, and solutions-focused, particularly when working under pressure during busy vessel visits.
An interest in the cruise industry and an understanding of cruise operations would be advantageous, although not essential. You will also have a creative and proactive approach to promoting activities, with experience using social media to support business promotion and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills
Excellent IT skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong report writing skills with the ability to analyse and interpret operational data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Ability to remain calm, organised, and methodical when working under pressure.
Experience using social media platforms to promote business activities or services.
Knowledge or understanding of cruise operations would be advantageous.
Full UK driving licence
Full right to work valid in the UK
Additional Information
The post holder may be required to work independently and make operational decisions using their own initiative.
Flexibility is required to support the demands of the cruise season, including occasional evening and weekend working during peak periods.
The role involves close collaboration across departments and with external partners to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
