Location: Port of Tilbury or Port of Grangemouth
Compensation: £30,000-£35,000

About the role
In this role, you will assist BI and Systems teams with the development, implementation and provision of data quality and verification, transformation and extraction to support our in-house Business Intelligence team using Microsoft tools. You will deliver on the IT Strategy and ensure the provision of data and modelling is available to the BI Team as they deliver on key business priorities and support business growth. Due to the nature of this role, an understanding of business operations and translating this back to system processes and the implications on data availability/design is key.
Key responsibilities:
Demonstrate enthusiasm and willingness to explore systems to understand end to end functionality and opportunities for analysis working with all stakeholders to identify how these areas could be enhanced.
Assist the BI and Systems teams with the promotion of BI tools and systems across the business.
Support access control and governance of data with the group BI suite.
Demonstrate the ability to help deliver insights and support to the business through technical skills and delivery.
Enhance knowledge of building Power BI models utilising DAX expressions and implement row level security.
Support, Problem solving and Initial investigation of issues, discrepancies within the platform and escalate these to the third-party support vendors.
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone to be based in either Port of Grangemouth or Port of Tilbury, where they will demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience of the Company’s business systems and infrastructure. Part of this position will be in the helpdesk and 24x7 on-call rota, and so flexibility is important for success in this role.
Hybrid working options will be available subject to line manager approval and an initial settling in period.
Skills and Qualifications:
Ideally educated to a degree level or equivalent in an IT related subject.
Capability to manage a busy and varied workload whilst prioritising key requirements in a fast-paced IT environment.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills to identify areas for development and for making improvements to operational efficiency.
Competent skills in using MS office suite.
Some knowledge of Azure Data factory, Oracle and Ms SQL databases, developing PBI models/reports, dashboards and how to articulate business requirements would be advantageous.
