UK Paper Hub 47 Berth provides a distribution warehouse facility for a number of paper suppliers.  The site is 35 acres with the capacity to discharge, store and distribute 700,000 tonnes of cargo per annum as part of a three-shift operation, 6-2/2-10/follow the ship.

About the role

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Handling cargo using all appropriate methods for discharge/loading in an operational environment

  • Housekeeping duties and basic maintenance

  • Manually handle cargo when required to meet customer requirements

  • Inspect and grade damaged paper products and ensure cargo refurbishment (reeled and palletised paper products)

  • Meet customers KPI’S within the time frame required and without causing any damage to the cargo entrusted to care of the Company

  • Undertake training to gain the relevant certification and knowledge/skills appropriate to the job

  • Upholding the highest standards of safety and adherence to operating policies and procedures

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working in ports and with plant machinery is preferred, but not essential

  • Basic Forklift licence is desirable, but training will be provided if necessary

  • Candidates who are happy to work as part of a team and eager to make a positive impact to the overall port operations

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Full UK working rights

We require candidates with flexibility to support overtime when required.
