UK Paper Hub 47 Berth provides a distribution warehouse facility for a number of paper suppliers. The site is 35 acres with the capacity to discharge, store and distribute 700,000 tonnes of cargo per annum as part of a 24 hour operation.
We have a new opportunity for an experienced Cargo Clerical Administrator to join our team at the Port of Tilbury where your will be responsible to receive, control and dispatch cargo to customers who utilise 47 Berth. You will also ensure cargoes are traced correctly through the terminal’s stock control systems including IPOS and Trax, and confirm all cargoes are customs cleared on the Destin8 system in line with HMRC customs regulations.
Shifts are on a weekly rotation:
6am-2pm
2pm-10pm
About the role
Your key responsibilities will include:
Professionally communicate with external customers to provide a satisfactory service to the customer and maintain contractual arrangements
Utilise computer systems including Trax, IPOS and Destin8 for the handling of paper products and 3rd party traffic via Transfennica Shipping Line
Maintain correct procedure for office administration and filing functions to meet company requirements
Communicate with drivers and operatives on a daily basis to ensure the efficient operational function
Recognise correct information upon receiving release/clearance notifications through Destin8 in order to provide accurate support to operational functions
Complete tasks within required timescales in order to meet the service level expected by the customer
Resolve any problems regarding customer queries
Monitoring of daily shunt sheet
Damage assessment of import/export for 3rd party cargo
Liaising with terminal supervision to prioritise operational workload and customer deadlines
Adjust and amend stock to meet customer delivery deadlines whilst liaising directly with the customer during out of hours
What are we looking for?
Use of IPOS, Trax and Destin8 systems for handling paper
Use of IPOS for handling 3rd party cargo
Good telephone and email manner
Be familiar with customer system, to have speed and accuracy
Understanding of shipping documents
Degree of flexibility to meet occasional and unexpected changes
Able to work unsociable and additional hours when required necessity
