About the role
This newly created role offers a great opportunity to join our busy in- house Occupational Health team, based at the Port of Grangemouth. Reporting into our Lead Occupational Health Advisor you will assist with the provision of a full health screening service for our Scottish Ports.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Undertaking routine health surveillance screening to include audiometry, spirometry, vision and skin checks.
Arranging and conducting pre-employment medicals, including drug and alcohol testing.
Assisting with face-fit testing for our Health and Safety team and maintaining a central data base of completed tests.
Ensuring accurate records are kept of all medicals and OH consultations and recorded on the appropriate systems.
Collating monthly statistical information for the Occupational Health team.
Supporting with health promotion plans and promoting the OH service to employees with particular emphasis on our EAP, counselling and physiotherapy services.
What are we looking for?
An Occupational Health Technician who will ideally have previous experience in a clinic based or peripatetic role. A good working knowledge of the relevant HSE legislation for industrial workplaces would also be advantageous.
You will have a pro-active and organised approach along with excellent planning, communication and IT skills.
You must have a full UK driving licence as travel will be required to our satellite OH facilities at our Ports in Leith, Dundee, Rosyth and South Queensferry (mileage allowance will apply). Some occasional travel may also be required to our Port in Tilbury, London.
This role is full-time, Monday to Friday, office hours however we are also willing to consider candidates who may prefer working reduced or compressed hours over 4 days.
