The Role
Reporting to the Director of Sales, Marketing & Customer Services, the Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of firmus energy’s marketing activities, budgets and performance. The post holder is accountable for developing and delivering the annual marketing plan to build the firmus energy brand, support business objectives and the day to day management and performance of marketing agencies. They must demonstrate a broad and in-depth understanding of the full range of marketing disciplines, and how they come together to create integrated communications and impact. They must also have a hands-on approach across all operational areas, taking responsibility for day to day projects and activities.

The successful candidate will be a results driven, flexible and dynamic individual, comfortable working to and achieving agreed marketing targets and budgets. They will be a self-starter, demonstrating first class communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. They will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work on a diverse set of projects at one time, prioritising and producing high quality work to strict deadlines. They must demonstrate good planning and activity skills and have a positive attitude, demonstrating initiative and proactivity across all marketing disciplines.
About the role
Main duties and responsibilities
Accountable for development and delivery of the annual integrated marketing plan in line with agreed targets (inc. sales connection targets & brand targets) and budgets
Liaise closely with internal teams, ensuring that marketing activities are targeted appropriately and are relevant to chosen audiences
Ensure that all marketing activity fits and builds firmus energy’s brand reputation
Demonstrate a broad understanding of the full range of marketing disciplines
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Public Relations and Public Affairs both offline and online to strengthen brand reputation
Develop a website and social media strategy by developing and maintaining various platforms with updated and engaging content
Manage, coach, mentor and develop marketing team, including identifying and delivery of team training needs, carry out effective 1:1s and effective performance management
Motivate team to achieve optimum performance
Identifying KPIs and producing timely performance reports for the Director of Sales, Marketing & Customer Services as required
Accountable for day to day management of all marketing agency activities including advertising, public relations, events, website, social media and market research
Communicating rationales and plans to the wider business
Act as role model to promote, develop and maintain a culture of teamwork both within own area and across all internal teams

What you will need
Required criteria
- A degree in Marketing or relevant marketing related discipline, and knowledge of all aspects of marketing disciplines
- At least 5 years’ experience working as a Marketing Manager
- Proven experience in managing and leading a high performing and motivated team to deliver against targets and objectives
- Previous proven experience in setting and managing budgets in all areas of marketing operations
- Demonstrate previous experience in delivering sales targets through marketing techniques
- Highly computer and web literate, with excellent IT skills and a strong knowledge of digital platforms
- Experience in management of marketing agencies

- Professional CIM membership or equivalent
