Person in Charge - Autism & Disability

ARCS Autism and Disability Services are currently looking to hire a Person in Charge for our Autism and Disability residential services in South Tipperary.

The Person in Charge (PIC) will be responsible for the overall management of the assigned Designated Centres, with responsibility for Outreach if tied to the Centre location.

· This includes responsibility for the management of staff and providing the highest standards of care to Service Users.

· The post holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HIQA standards and implementation of ARCS’s policies and procedures supporting best care and

practice in disability services.

Who we are;

ARCS Autism and Disability Services are part of Daffodil Care Group, set up in response for demand to provide specialized/ bespoke therapeutic Residential Care Services for Individuals whose needs cannot be met under generic models. We work with young people with an ASD/ID Diagnosis and young people that have also been impacted by trauma and attachment difficulties.

ARCS adopt a well-being, positive psychology approach, we successfully are a restraint free service and utilize Studio III Low Arousal approaches for stress management and de-escalation.

At ARCS, we work closely with the Individual, their existing supports and relevant MDT professionals to create a bespoke service to meet the needs of the Individuals we work with, as such the teams receive a specialized/ bespoke training package to support them to deliver the service as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 7 in Humanities, Healthcare OR Social Care Equivalent e.g. Disability Studies/ Psychology/ Counselling Psychotherapy/ Special Needs Education / Nursing

  • An appropriate qualification in health or social care management / leadership OR a commitment to undertake further training is essential

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.

  • Understanding of HIQA Regulations and Inspection Process

  • Full driver’s license

 

Desirable:

·        Keen interest working with young people trauma/ attachment difficulties.

·        knowledge of the PERMA Model of Positive Psychology.

·        Experience working with young people with Autism.
