Reporting to the Head of Estimating this role will assist the tender process by producing accurate costs for façade cladding elements. Being responsible for ensuring cladding enquiries are returned accurately and in a timely manner to other members of the Pre-Construction team.

This role is based in our Head Office in Ballymena but may require travel to the UK.

About the role

Key Responsibilities/Tasks

·         Quantity take-offs from architectural drawings.

·         Building up costs for materials, labour and plant.

·         Analysis of value engineering opportunities to ensure bids are competitive.

·         Working closely with other members of the Pre-Construction team to ensure support is provided.  

·         Liaison with inhouse experts to understand where additional benefits can be gained.

·         Follow up and negotiation of supplier enquiries & quotations.

·         Completion of tender checklists.

·         Successfully collaborate with key stakeholders to include with clients / client representatives, architects, consultant engineers, site managers, supervisors, planners, surveyors and HSEQ officers

·         Other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the jobholder’s level in the company.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to pick up new IT systems quickly.
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Motivated team player and ability to take initiative.
  • Previous experience with on screen take-off software. E.g. Bluebeam
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) to include English and Maths

Desired criteria

  • HNC level qualification or above, preferably in construction or engineering related subject.
  • Previous experience in the cladding or roofing industry would be advantageous.
