About this role
Job Purpose
Accountable for the coordination of material, equipment, manpower, quality and meeting production schedules and customer satisfaction. Directing the work of others including problem solving and coordination with support departments. Leading a team with the ability to work hands-on when required.
This job description is not exhaustive as other duties may be required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Responsibilities
· Adhering to company safety policies and procedures at all times.
· Monitoring and continuously improving shop floor safety, eliminating unsafe conditions.
· Assuring processes are followed to meet production schedules and capacity is in place to meet demand.
· Schedules and prioritizes resources, and adjusts staffing to meet production and customer requirements.
· Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate.
· Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to agreed schedule.
· Evaluates, assesses, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training.
· Leads regular improvement discussions with team members and support departments.
· Deliver on department KPI’s and initiates corrective actions when required.
· Drive 5s standards for work area whilst identifying and implementing improvements.
· Drives root cause corrective action and drives continuous improvement.

· To adhere to CDE policy and practice.
· To carry out any other duties within reason and capability associated with this role.
What you will need
Required criteria
- - Minimum 3 years’ experience in an assembly / manufacturing supervisory role
- - Educated to GCSE level in Mathematics and English
- - Proven leadership ability
- - Proven organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise and control daily workload
- - Good interpersonal skills
- - Attentive to detail
- - Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- - Dependable and reliable
- - Enthusiastic, energetic self-starter able to work on own initiative
- - Willingness to develop and adapt to new situations
- - Team Player
- - Available to work flexible hours
- - Clearance to work in UK
Desired criteria
- - Minimum 5 years’ experience of manufacturing assembly processes leading a team
- - Experience in development of production lines, following lean manufacturing principles
- - Experience with ERP systems
- - Technical qualification relevant to the role
