Job purpose:
To manage the home in accordance with its Statement of Purpose and to ensure the maintenance of a safe and caring environment in accordance with relevant childcare legislation, national standards and Ashdale Care (Ireland)Policies and Procedures.

About this role
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day management of a residential children’s home
Ensure full compliance with childcare legislation, national standards, and best practice
Deliver high-quality, child-centred care that promotes positive outcomes
Oversee admissions, care planning, and regular reviews
Build strong relationships with families and external professionals
Represent the home at meetings, reviews, and court where required
Ensure children’s voices are heard and respected at all times
Maintain accurate records, reporting, and regulatory compliance
Drive quality improvements and uphold high care standards
Team Leadership
Lead, supervise, and support a multidisciplinary staff team
Manage rotas to ensure consistent 24/7 care
Oversee staff training, performance, and development
Promote a positive, professional, and supportive team culture
Operational Management
Support financial oversight and budget control
Ensure a safe, homely, and well-maintained environment
Oversee property, vehicles, and resources
What We’re Looking For
Strong leadership experience in residential childcare
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to high-quality, child-focused care

Salary: €56,256 – €65,912 (DOE)

What you will need
Required criteria
- A full clean driving licence with access to a car.
- Minimum Level 8 degree in Social Care/Work OR Coru registration OR a relevant degree +3/4 years childrens residential experience
