Compliance/ Audit Officer
JOB PURPOSE:
To carry out Internal Thematic Audits of Ashdale Care Homes in line with Organizational Policy. To complete these Audits in line with the National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres (2001), Child Care Regulations (1996), Ashdale Cares Policies and Procedures, relevant legislation and best practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Auditing
Responsible for conducting thematic audits in allocated homes in line with organisational policy, and/or requested by the Senior Compliance Manager
To meet with staff members to ascertain their understanding of Policies & Procedures, Statement of Purpose & Function, Model of Care and TCI guiding and underpinning practice, whether directly through interviews, or indirectly through attendance at and observations of handovers, on the floor practice with young people and with each other.
To meet with young people, if they are willing and able, to review their placement needs, understand their experience of their placement and staff, gain an understanding of their placement goals and seek to improve the quality of their placement.
To provide written audit reports on findings as guided by the above and report directly to the Senior Compliance Manager.
To complete a review of the homes monthly thematic self-audits as completed by home management, reviewing quality and content of reports and identified action plans, giving feedback to allocated Regional Managers via the weekly governance report.
Where action plans have been issued to homes, seek assurance that these actions have been completed via either requested upload of evidence or review of the Governance folder.
Highlight to the Senior Compliance Manager any deficits in the core mandatory training of any home following an audit.
All learnings from inspections will be shared via an organisation action plan and the compliance officer will feedback to the Senior Compliance Manager to advise that these learnings are in action across all homes.
Review of SERG minutes/all supervisions/policy & procedures & personnel files in the homes, triangulate evidence to ensure all actions identified are complete.
To complete a feedback meeting with the home management team and allocated Regional Manager, on completion of an annual full themed audit.
Annual Review of Compliance & Quality Improvement Plans
Report any areas of non-compliance as a priority to the Senior Compliance Manager.
To support the completion of quality improvement plans and annual compliance reports alongside Home Management teams.
To support the current systems and processes in place to influence quality improvement across the homes and enhance the care of our young people and staff members.
Governance
· Input to the weekly report which is provided to the Senior Leadership Team via the Senior Compliance Manager.
Other duties
Provides support to the home management teams with the Vi-clarity system.
Facilitation of training to management teams when required on the Vi-clarity system.
Be an ambassador for all our people within the organisation, driving our vision and values through our culture, policies, procedures and practices.

About the role
Essential Criteria
o A minimum qualification to Level 7 degree in Social Care or Social Work.
o A working knowledge of the National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres
o Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a children’s residential environment or social work environment
o Minimum of 1 years experience in an auditing capacity –
o Highly motivated with excellent planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
o Excellent IT skills
o Ability to work independently
o Applicant must have a full, clean divers license and access to personal transport
