Maintenance Fitter
JOB PURPOSE: To minimise down time on production equipment by completing preventative maintenance activities and responding to equipment breakdowns as required. To continuously improve the uptime / availability on the equipment and upkeep of the facility.
HOURS: 40 hours per week (To be discussed)

About the role
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with AG HSEQ Policies & Procedures, safe systems of work and legislative requirements
2. Take personal responsibility for safety. Ensure that risks are eliminated or controlled during all maintenance activities.
3. Ensure effective maintenance of all equipment and facilities to maximise on equipment availability.
4. Complete Electrical & mechanical repairs whilst minimising downtime to ensure minimal disruption to the production plan.
5. Fault finding on equipment and plant to determine the root cause of the failures to enable these to be addressed to maximise on equipment availability.
6. When necessary, work with OEM’s to assist in determining root cause of failure and implementing suitable solutions to safely return the equipment to service.
7. Assist in the development of planned maintenance schedules for all equipment.
8. Ensure all manufacturing equipment and plant is operationally safe and in compliance with relevant legalisation and company policies.
9. Help to ensure adequate stocks of spares and lubricants
10. Use Engage Software to document corrective action/remedial actions in relation to H&S improvement opportunities.
11. Promote best practice standards for good housekeeping and tidiness of work area. Take necessary corrective action regarding housekeeping, unsafe acts or adherence to HSEQ rules and procedures. Reporting non-conformances using Engage Software.
12. Work in partnership with production to increase the availability of equipment, effectiveness of the manufacturing process and quality of the product.
13. Participate with information sharing and team work to continuously improve equipment and facilities.
14. Support the installation of new equipment and plant.
15. Any other duties commensurate with the role and within capabilities

What you will need
Required criteria
- Medically fit to undertake the physical requirements of the job
- Time-served electrical and/or mechanical engineer or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering.
- Must be able to read electrical drawings
- Computer literate
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Flexibility to working hours Good timekeeper
- Be able to respond to call outs outside normal working hours
Desired criteria
- Experience with Siemens PLC’s and SEW Drives and Motors
- Fabrication experience, e.g. Welding
- 3 years industrial maintenance experience in a production environment
