Maintenance Electrician

We are now recruiting a Maintenance Electrician to join our growing team, to carry out maintenance tasks as required within routine and preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime.
About the role
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure compliance with AG HSEQ Policies & Procedures, safe systems of work and legislative requirements
2. Take personal responsibility for safety. Ensure that risks are eliminated or controlled during all maintenance activities.
3. Carry out maintenance as required including preventative maintenance tasks and reporting of issues
4. Ensure effective maintenance of all equipment and facilities to maximise on equipment availability.
5. Complete Electrical repairs whilst minimising downtime to ensure minimal disruption to the production plan.
6. Electrical installation and testing.
7. Fault finding on equipment and plant to determine the root cause of the failures to enable these to be addressed to maximise production availability.
8. When necessary, work with OEM’s to assist in determining root cause of failure and implementing suitable solutions to safely return the equipment to service.
9. Assist in the development of planned maintenance schedules for all equipment.
10. Ensure all manufacturing equipment and plant is operationally safe and in compliance with relevant legalisation and company policies.
11. Help to ensure adequate stocks of spare parts
12. Use Engage Software to document corrective action/remedial actions in relation to H&S improvement opportunities.
13. Promote best practice standards for good housekeeping and tidiness of work area. Take necessary corrective action regarding housekeeping, unsafe acts or adherence to HSEQ rules and procedures. Reporting non-conformances using Engage Software.
14. Work in partnership with production to increase the availability of equipment, effectiveness of the manufacturing process and quality of the product.
15. Participate with information sharing and team work to continuously improve equipment and facilities.
16. Support the installation of new equipment and plant.
17. Any other duties commensurate with the role and within capabilities

What you will need
Required criteria
- Medically fit to undertake the physical requirements of the job.
- 5 GCSE’s Grades C or equivalent or above including Maths and English
- At least 2 years electrical maintenance experience
- Knowledge of electrical control systems and PLC’s
- Experience of fault diagnostics
- Qualified Electrician
- Ability to record and report maintenance data precisely.
- Adherence and appreciation for housekeeping standards
- Ability to work to strict deadlines. Sound technical ability.
- Be highly aware of health & safety in the workplace.
- Methodical in approach
- Reliable
- Works well on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Can travel to and from work areas as and when required
- Flexible approach to work required Good time keeper
- Be able to respond to call outs outside normal working hours.
Desired criteria
- A recognised qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience in a manufacturing/electrical environment
- At least 1 year’s experience relating to pneumatic and hydraulic systems in a production plant
- Certified qualification in automated control systems.
