Senior Laboratory Technician - Microbiology
Salary: £26,000-£28,000 per annum.
Working Hours: Wednesday to Sunday - 10.00am to 6.30pm
Beechwood Laboratories, founded in 1984 and based in Doagh, Ballyclare, is an independent laboratory providing both chemical and microbiological testing of raw materials, finished products and associated samples.
We are currently seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician (Microbiology) to join our growing team.

About this role
Supporting the day-to-day running and supervision of the laboratory.
Carrying out microbiological testing, sample preparation and quality control checks.
Preparing and sterilising laboratory media and agar.
Maintaining accurate laboratory records and ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 quality standards.
Reviewing and developing laboratory methods and procedures.
Maintaining laboratory equipment, cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Assisting with staff training, workload management and resource allocation.
Investigating unusual test results and resolving issues as required.
Responding to customer queries and collecting samples when necessary.
Promoting health, safety and equality, and undertaking other reasonable duties as required.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Third level qualification in Microbiology, Food Science or related subject
- Relevant Laboratory Experience
- Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Systems - must be able to demonstrate practical ability
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent computer literacy skills.
