SOC Operator Days & Nights

Be at the heart of security. Make every decision count.

Are you alert, analytical and able to think clearly under pressure? Do you enjoy solving problems, working as part of a team, and knowing that what you do makes a difference?

Provincial is expanding its Security Operations Centre (SOC) team and is looking for motivated, professional, and proactive SOC Operators to join us in supporting a major Dublin campus and other client locations.

Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, our SOC plays a vital role in protecting people, property, and business operations. As a SOC Operator, you’ll be at the centre of that activity — monitoring security systems, assessing information, coordinating responses, and ensuring the right people have the right information at the right time.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team where no two shifts are quite the same, and where your attention to detail, judgement and communication skills genuinely matter.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the SOC team, you will help maintain a clear operational picture, respond to emerging situations and support effective decision-making across our client environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor and respond: Manage incoming routine and emergency alarm calls, monitoring CCTV, and security systems, including fire, door and duress alarms.

  • Assess and investigate: Review incidents, analyse available information and support investigations into internal and external events.

  • Coordinate responses: Dispatch and coordinate security officers, Emergency Response Teams (ERT), facilities personnel, and emergency services when required.

  • Keep people informed: Communicate timely, accurate and relevant information to stakeholders using established procedures and communication channels.

  • Stay informed: Monitor domestic and international security developments, gathering intelligence that may affect our clients, their people, or their operations.

  • Maintain accurate records: Document calls, communications, decisions, and incidents to ensure information is reliable, accessible, and available for follow-up.

  • Work collaboratively: Act as a central point of contact between the Physical Security Department, security teams, and relevant stakeholders.

  • Recognise and escalate: Identify unusual activity, emerging risks, complaints, and critical events, escalating concerns promptly to the SOC Supervisor or Manager.

  • Support daily operations: Contribute to the smooth running of the SOC, following established procedures while applying sound judgement when situations Chan

Job Requirements

We’re looking for people who are curious, dependable, and comfortable taking responsibility. You don’t need to have every answer, but you do need to know how to assess a situation, communicate clearly and recognise when to act or escalate.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong computer skills and confidence working across multiple systems; experience with security or monitoring platforms is an advantage.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise updates and instructions.

  • An interest in global security risks, current affairs, and emerging threats.

  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to remain calm, professional, and focused under pressure.

  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills in both routine and time-critical situations.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and multitask without losing attention to detail.

  • A self-motivated approach, with the ability to follow procedures and work independently when required.

  • A strong customer service mindset and a commitment to professional standards.

  • The confidence to communicate effectively with security personnel, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.

  • High ethical standards, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly.

  • A collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute to a supportive, high-performing team.

Qualifications and experience

  • A valid PSA Licence.

  • Previous experience in a Security Operations Centre or control room environment is an advantage.

  • Experience working with alarm monitoring, CCTV, incident management, or emergency response coordination would be beneficial.

  • Location: Dublin 4

  • Working pattern: 12-hour shifts, working 3 or 4 shifts per week

  • Operations: 24/7/365, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays as rostered
