Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of young people? MCMA, a leading provider of social care staffing in Ireland, is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Care Workers to join our team, supporting young people in a Special Care setting. In this vital role, you will provide essential support within a Special Care Youth Residential setting, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment for young people in care.

Your responsibilities will be diverse and rewarding, focusing on the holistic well-being of each individual. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing personalised Care and Placement Plans, promoting their rights, and encouraging their personal, educational, and social development. This includes everything from helping with school and appointments to engaging in play and managing household activities.

We are looking for a proactive and resilient individual who can work collaboratively with a team, liaise with external agencies, and maintain meticulous records. If you are committed to upholding the highest standards of care and want to be part of an organisation that values professionalism and empathy, we encourage you to apply.

About this role

As a Special Care Worker, no two days are the same. You'll be at the heart of the home, starting your day by supporting young people as they get ready for school or daily activities. Your role involves a blend of practical support, emotional guidance, and structured planning. You will engage in therapeutic activities, and manage household duties to create a warm, clean, and organised living space.

This position offers significant growth opportunities through ongoing professional training, regular supervision, and the chance to develop specialist knowledge in child care legislation and best practices. You'll build meaningful relationships, document developmental progress, and act as a key advocate for the young people you support.
