 Salary: Points 40-42 £37,865.20 - £39,817.44 per annum (pro rata)

 Hours: 39 hours per week

Location: Remote/home working with requirement to attend meetings and work at The Action Group’s Prentice Centre Office in Edinburgh, when required. Travel to this location from home is not covered.

Requirements:

You must have excellent communication and organisation skills, ability to problem solve and be able to work in a fast paced, target driven environment.  Although not essential, experience of working in a recruitment role and previous line manager experience is highly desirable.

About the Role A fantastic opportunity has opened for the right candidate to lead The Action Group’s Recruitment Team.  The role will have 3 main functions: 

  1. Engaging with our internal stakeholder to understand their recruitment needs 

  1. Identifying the best opportunities for our recruitment activities 

  1. Leading our recruitment team, ensuring best practice with regards to Safer Recruitment, ensuring excellent customer care and developing your team

About this role

 We are looking for someone to join our dynamic Human Resources team in the role of Recruitment Lead. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive and professional recruitment support service to candidates joining The Action Group and to the managers in the organisation who are hiring.  

 We are a tight knit team of enthusiastic HR practitioners who are committed to the work we do. We are looking for a colleague who is resourceful, takes initiative and has excellent administrative skills including careful attention to detail. We also need someone with strong organisational skills and a passion for customer care.

Main Purpose 

  • To improve our external recruitment activity and capacity, through your efforts, with priority to recruiting social care staff, for our services for the benefit of those we support. This will include networking; marketing to schools; other community locations and projects while increasing our digital profile and recruitment opportunities.  

  • You will take on the main role of “doing” much of our recruitment marketing outreach to places, people, and organisations in real time and digitally. This will mean working with our Comms and HR teams, as well as our Service managers etc to focus your and colleagues’ efforts into increasing the number of great people who join us in our social care roles.  

 

1. General duties 

In addition to the above, your role also requires you to: 

a) Carry out duties in accordance with The Action Group standards, policies and procedures. 

b) Support the Senior Managing Team in developing and adapting the recruitment strategy of The Action Group, by working internally and externally to increase the numbers of great support workers/Casual support workers and social care front line managers applying to work at The Action Group.   

c) You will support your team to ensure that processing of recruitment activities is completed to a high standard and to agreed KPIs 

d) Undertake any other duties as assigned. Whilst the role is positioned within the recruitment team, the HR function works as a team as a whole. There may therefore be the need for the post holder to help occasionally with a task not directly linked to recruitment.

3. Support & Reassurance Received 

• The post holder will regularly meet their line manager for support & reassurance meetings as outlined in The Action Group’s support & reassurance policy. 

4. Amendments 

• This job description is not intended to be exhaustive and the post holder may be required to perform other duties on occasion. 

• This job description may be amended following discussions with the post holder and with approval from the Human Resources Manager.
