Health & Safety Officer
Roadstone Ltd. are seeking a motivated and proactive Health & Safety Officer to actively manage risk, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures and documentation across all operations within Roadstone. They will play a key role in promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and continuously improving our safety performance.
The role will be located at our Belgard Quarry, Tallaght, Dublin location.

About this role
Key Areas of Responsibility
Perform daily job audits and regular safety audits to monitor compliance with the company health and safety policy and CRH 16 Life Saving Rules.
Review and coordinate site-specific training requirements and schedule training.
Coach employees and contractors at the job site on risk evaluation and reduction.
Work with the team to drive awareness and improvement throughout the location in the areas of Health, Safety and Welfare.
Advise management on the actions needed to reduce the levels of occupational risk.
Document and enhance job specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) with the relevant teams.
Report all incidents to the appropriate location manager and the Regional H&S Manager.
Develop accident reduction and prevention programmes.
Enhance procedures for dealing with contractors coming on to the site.
Monitor completion of induction programmes and training for contractors & staff coming on site.
Continuously review Health & Safety Policy / Safety Statements and recommend revisions / amendments as appropriate.
Design and deliver Toolbox Talks.
Participate in and ensure that an effective consultation mechanism is maintained within the location for health and safety.

The following knowledge, skills and competencies are desirable for this role:
A degree level qualification with a diploma or considerable relevant hands-on experience in an operational Health and Safety environment is preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience of working in a construction or an industrial environment.
Knowledge of industrial processes and systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong IT skills.
Knowledge of ISO 45001 an advantage.
Full clean driving license.
This is a site focused role. The candidate should be self-motivated, highly committed and enthusiastic. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a cross-functional work force is essential.

- A relevant Qualification in Health & Safety or Other Similar qualification.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- A clean driving licence will be required, as a company vehicle is supplied.
