Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering outstanding, person-centred care?
We’re looking for a confident, motivated and hands-on Unit Manager (Registered Nurse) to join the leadership team at Westgate House Care Centre.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a clinical leader who enjoys supporting and developing others, takes pride in high standards of care, and wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of our residents.
Working closely with the Home Manager and Head of Clinical Services, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and operation of your unit — a 35-bed nursing floor.
You’ll lead by example, ensuring your team delivers safe, compassionate and effective care while maintaining high standards of clinical governance, quality, compliance and resident wellbeing.

40 hours per week | 8am–5pm | Flexibility required

As Unit Manager, you will:
Lead, motivate and inspire a team of care professionals to deliver exceptional standards of care and enhance the lives of our residents.
Take ownership of nursing and care practice across your unit, ensuring person-centred care remains at the heart of everything we do.
Provide strong clinical leadership and maintain oversight of clinical governance, escalating and reporting key issues to the Home Manager as required.
Support audits across the home, review quality and care outcomes, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Remain clinically involved and provide hands-on nursing care, including medication administration and wound care.
Ensure care is delivered in accordance with company policies and procedures, the NMC Code, CQC requirements and all relevant legislation and regulations.
Work collaboratively with external healthcare professionals and stakeholders, including Social Services and relevant NHS representatives.
Support the Home Manager with resident admissions and occupancy by liaising with stakeholders and assessing prospective residents to ensure their care needs can be appropriately supported.
Promote a positive, supportive and accountable culture where staff feel empowered to deliver their best.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Registered Nurse who is:
Experienced in a clinical leadership or senior nursing role.
Confident managing people, clinical standards and day-to-day operations.
Passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Comfortable being hands-on and leading from the front.
Committed to clinical governance, continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
An excellent communicator who can build strong relationships with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals.
Dedicated to supporting and developing the next generation of care professionals.

What you will need
Required criteria
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification
- Current and valid NMC PIN
- Strong clinical knowledge and leadership experience
- A clear understanding of CQC, safeguarding and H&S legislation
- Excellent communication, organisation and people management skills
- A positive, flexible and innovative approach to care delivery
