SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
A genuine passion for delivering compassionate, person-centred care and enhancing the lives of others.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement at all levels.
A collaborative and supportive team player ethos.
A proactive approach to continuous professional development, including participation in vocational training programmes.
Successful completion of enhanced background checks, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
Desired:
Relevant vocational qualifications in health and social care (achieved or actively working towards).
Demonstrable experience working with relevant resident groups within a care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Exceptional Person-Centred Care: Champion the highest standards of care, assisting residents with daily living activities, personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility, always upholding their dignity. Provide holistic support, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, especially for those with limited mobility or cognitive challenges. Proactively monitor well-being, adapt care approaches, and promote continence. Provide sensitive end-of-life care, ensuring privacy and dignity.
Nurturing & Engaging Environment: Engage residents in meaningful social activities and hobbies, fostering a stimulating atmosphere. Maintain a clean and organised environment, including rooms and equipment. Support mealtimes, assisting with dining needs and dietary management. Welcome visitors warmly, offering refreshments and assistance.
Professionalism & Collaboration: Maintain accurate care records, observing and documenting resident needs per company policies. Respond promptly to communication systems (Nursecall, telephone), relaying messages effectively. Collaborate closely with senior staff on resident well-being and conduct regular checks. Actively participate in meetings and commit to ongoing professional development, including mandatory training.
Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all health and safety policies, emergency procedures, and fire protocols, reporting incidents or hazards immediately. Ensure Care Home security and uphold integrity in managing confidential information and resident affairs.
