Activities and Wellbeing Lead (Maternity Cover)
Activities and Wellbeing Lead (Maternity Cover)
Bring our residents' days to life
We're a family owned and run care provider, and we're passionate about people — it's not just a motto, it's how we operate. We're looking for an Activities and Wellbeing Lead who loves dreaming up ideas and bringing them to life — someone who sees a blank diary as an opportunity, not a chore.
This is a role with real creative freedom. You'll shape the programme, try new things, and make it genuinely your own — no two weeks will look the same, because what makes someone's day depends entirely on who they are. What matters is that residents feel seen, engaged and part of something, and that's down to you.

About this role
What you'll actually be doing
• Designing and running a varied programme of activities — social, physical, creative and cognitive — that residents genuinely look forward to
• Getting to know residents as individuals, so what you plan reflects who they actually are, not a generic timetable
• Bringing in arts and crafts, music, fitness, outings and anything else you think will land — we want your ideas.
• Building relationships with residents' families to bring even more richness into what's on offer
• Leading and inspiring a small team of activity coordinators, and giving them room to bring their own ideas too
• Working with the care team so activities complement residents' care plans
• Maintaining the budget and making sure everything you deliver meets health and safety standards
Why Westgate is different
• Family owned and operated — decisions here are made by people who know the homes, not a distant corporate structure
• A genuine track record of promoting from within — many of our staff, including Home Managers, started in roles just like this one and grew with us; if you want a career, not just a job, we'll invest in getting you there
• Excellent regulatory standards — our homes are currently rated Good or Outstanding, so you're joining a team that gets the fundamentals right
• We invest in keeping good people — many of our staff have been with us for years, not just recruited and left to it
Our values
Compassionate. Committed. Collaborative. Credible.
These aren't words on a wall — they're what we expect from each other and what our residents and families experience every day.
Pay and hours
• £13.50 - £14 per hour

Why people stay at Westgate
• Get paid before payday with Stream, plus Blue Light Card, cashback and discount schemes
• Refer a friend, earn up to £500
• Cycle to Work scheme, wellbeing support via The Care Workers Charity, and regular team social events
• Recognition that isn't just words — Employee of the Month and Long Service awards
