About this role

As a Day Porter, you are often the first and last point of contact for our guests, playing a crucial role in shaping their experience at The Gleneagle Hotel. You will be instrumental in ensuring every visitor feels valued and supported from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver polite and efficient porter services, ensuring every guest interaction contributes to exceptional satisfaction.

  • Provide comprehensive information and personalised recommendations on local attractions, events, and directions, enriching our guests' visits.

  • Offer proactive support to various hotel departments, ensuring seamless operations and a cohesive guest experience.

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests at the hotel entrance, creating a memorable first impression.

  • Assist guests with luggage, guide them to their rooms, and clearly explain room features and amenities.

  • Anticipate and fulfil guest needs within the lobby area, maintaining comfort and convenience.

  • Efficiently set up and dismantle meeting rooms, ensuring they are perfectly prepared for various events.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the hotel's offerings and the surrounding area to provide accurate assistance.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Ideally, you will bring previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or tourism, though a genuine passion for guest care is paramount.

  • A positive demeanour and outstanding interpersonal skills, enabling you to connect effortlessly with guests and colleagues.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage tasks independently, demonstrating strong initiative.
