In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, caring, and stable environment for the children and young people in our residential centres. You will lead a dedicated team, working alongside management to ensure the highest standards of care are met.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring Care and Placement Plans are effectively implemented and regularly monitored.
- Promoting the rights and responsibilities of each young person, acting as their advocate.
- Applying your working knowledge of the National Standards for Children's Residential Centres to guarantee compliance and best practice.
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting your team to deliver exceptional care.
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced individual with a strong background in social care, holding a relevant QQI Level 7 qualification and at least three years of full-time experience working with children and young people. What you will need
Required criteria
- Minimum of 3 years full-time relevant experience in social care, working with children and young people in mainstream care.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Must hold a QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies / Social Care, or a related field such as Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling, Addiction Counselling, Youth and Community, Family Support, or Applied Policing.
- Must be registered with CORU or in the process of registration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
