We are looking for an articulate, organised and detail-conscious Administrator to help ensure the smooth running of The Cedars. This is a varied role for someone who takes pride in maintaining an efficient office, communicates confidently and is eager to learn.

Working as part of our small, supportive team, you will provide high-quality administrative support to the General Manager and colleagues while offering a warm, professional welcome to residents, relatives, visitors and suppliers. You will also work closely with fellow Administrators across Westward Care.

This opportunity could suit an eager graduate, an experienced administrator or someone passionate about running a well-organised office within a caring environment.

About this role

Key responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, timely administrative support to the General Manager and wider team.

  • Maintain organised records, systems and reports, ensuring information is submitted to Head Office within agreed timescales.

  • Deliver a friendly and professional front-of-house service to residents, relatives, visitors and suppliers.

  • Support recruitment administration, including keeping track of current vacancies, liaising with the recruitment team, completing associated, regulatory documentation.

  • Handle office monies and financial records accurately and responsibly.

  • Liaise confidently with Administrators and other colleagues across the company.

  • Support events and marketing activities through effective planning, administration and coordination.

  • Identify and suggest practical improvements to administrative systems and services.

  • Work independently when required while contributing positively to the wider team.

  • Uphold Westward Care's values and help create an environment that promotes dignity, respect, independence and choice.

  • To ensure that face to face and telephone enquiries are dealt with in an efficient, friendly and professional manner.                                                   

  • To lead by example to ensure that all customers and employees are treated with equality, dignity and respect and every individual feels they can challenge discrimination and harassment in employment practice and service provision.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • previous experience in an administrative or office support role
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other computerised systems.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information.
  • Experience dealing with members of the public and providing excellent customer service.
  • Basic understanding of the health and social care sector (or willingness to learn).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired criteria

  • Good numerical skills for invoicing, petty cash, or basic financial administration.
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles.
  • Relevant administration or business qualification
