We are currently recruiting for a part time Domestic Assistant to provide and maintain a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with infection control and health & safety standards.
About this role
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Hygiene:
Clean resident bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, corridors, and offices to a high standard.
Undertake daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules as directed.
Dispose of waste in line with care home policy and infection control guidelines.
Use appropriate cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
Health & Safety:
Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, including COSHH regulations.
Report any faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
Ensure proper storage and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Infection Control:
Follow infection prevention protocols including hand hygiene, PPE usage, and deep cleaning as required.
Assist in implementing enhanced cleaning during outbreaks (e.g., flu, norovirus, COVID-19).
Resident Interaction:
Be respectful and courteous to residents, ensuring privacy and dignity are upheld.
Report any concerns regarding residents’ wellbeing to a senior staff member.
Other Duties:
Attend mandatory training and staff meetings as required.
An Enhanced Access NI check will be required for this position. If successful please be advised that we have a policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders which is available from our HR Team. Having a criminal record will not necessarily affect you from working with Burnview Group and will be reviewed in line with our policy.

What you will need
Required criteria
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Experience in cleaning or domestic work
- Understanding of cleaning and hygiene standards
- Satisfactory Enhanced Access NI Check
Desired criteria
- Relevant knowledge on COSHH.
- Experience in a care home or healthcare setting
- Basic hygiene or cleaning certificate
