We are seeking a proactive and experienced Yard Foreman to become a pivotal part of our Hull depot operations. In this key leadership role, you will champion efficiency, safety, and quality across all yard activities. About this role
As our Yard Foreman, you will be instrumental in the smooth operation of our Hull depot. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency across all yard activities. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading, motivating, and developing your team to achieve optimal productivity and effectiveness.
Overseeing the repair, refurbishment, and fit-out of modular buildings and cabins to stringent AQPG standards.
Managing stock availability, ensuring units are prepared promptly for hire and customer requirements are met.
Championing health and safety, conducting equipment checks, and providing essential training.
Implementing meticulous quality control, inspecting units pre-delivery and post-return, accurately reporting any issues.
Optimising material usage, including procurement and waste minimisation.
Mentoring junior staff and apprentices, fostering their skills and growth.
Maintaining an organised, clean, and safe workshop and hire yard.
We are looking for someone who brings:
Significant experience in modular building or cabin fit-out.
Proven management or supervisory experience within a similar operational environment.
Exceptional leadership and team motivation abilities, with a flair for effective delegation.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Practical expertise in plumbing, joinery, and basic electrical work.
A full, valid driving licence.
The resilience to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

What you will need
Required criteria
- Experience in cabin fitting or modular buildings in a supervisory or managerial role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Resilience and tenacity
- Joinery, electrical and plumbing skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Proven experience as a Yard Foreman or in a similar supervisory role within a yard or construction environment.
- Demonstrable experience in the repair, refurbishment, and fit-out of modular buildings or similar structures.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Strong commitment to upholding high standards of efficiency, safety, and quality in all yard activities.
- Proactive approach to managing yard operations.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations for yard operations.
- Possession of relevant plant operating licenses (e.g., forklift) or willingness to obtain them.
