We are actively seeking compassionate and dedicated Youth-Based Residential Special Care Workers to join our dynamic team in Dublin. This vital role will primarily be based at our Crannog Nua (Portrane) and Ballydowd (Palmerstown, Dublin 20) locations.

As a Youth-Based Residential Special Care Worker, you will:

  • Champion the rights and empower young people, ensuring their voices are heard and respected within our services.
  • Drive the development and meticulous implementation of individualised Care and Placement Plans, tailored to each young person's unique needs.
  • Nurture the holistic well-being of young people, supporting their physical, emotional, social, educational, and spiritual development.
  • Forge strong partnerships with family members and multidisciplinary professionals, collaborating effectively to deliver comprehensive, integrated care.
  • Maintain exemplary standards of care by diligently adhering to all organisational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation and reporting, upholding clear communication and accountability.
  • Actively participate in regular supervision sessions, fostering continuous professional development and reflective practice.

About this role

Qualifications:

We require a degree (Level 7+ on the National Framework of Qualifications) in one of the following disciplines:

  • Social Care or Applied Social Studies

  • Youth and Community

  • BA (Hons) Youth and Community Development

  • BA (Hons) Psychology

  • Addiction Studies

  • BA (Hons) Counselling and Addiction Studies

  • Disability Diploma (Primary Degree)

  • Social Science

 

Essential Requirements:

  • A commitment to working a minimum of 2 shifts per week, with an ideal commitment of 3 shifts.

  • Demonstrated client focus, compassion, and empathy.

  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team, coupled with excellent flexibility and the capacity for self-directed initiative.

  • Valid work permissions for Ireland.

  • Competitive pay rates: Time and a half on Saturdays, and double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

  • Flexible shift patterns to suit your lifestyle: Days (8am – 9pm, 10am – 11pm) and Nights (8:30pm – 8:30am).

  • Option for full-time lines or individual shifts, with a minimum commitment of two shifts per week.

We offer a competitive MCMA Special Care salary scale, aligned with the HSE scale based on postgraduate experience.
