Food & Beverage Assistant

Job Summary
The Food & Beverage Assistant is responsible for providing friendly, professional and efficient service to guests across restaurant, bar, breakfast and event areas. The role involves taking and serving food and beverage orders, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and ensuring an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner.

• Take accurate food and beverage orders and deliver them promptly.

• Prepare and serve food, beverages, tea and coffee according to company standards.

• Set up and clear tables, restaurant areas, bars and function rooms.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and personal presentation.

• Provide accurate information about menus, food and beverages, including dietary requirements and allergens.

• Handle guest requests and resolve queries professionally, escalating issues when necessary.

• Operate tills and process cash and card payments accurately.

• Maintain good knowledge of food and beverage menus and assist with upselling where appropriate.

• Work closely with kitchen, bar and management teams to ensure smooth service.

• Follow all food safety, health and safety, licensing and company procedures.

• Replenish stock and maintain service areas throughout the shift.

• Support colleagues and other departments during busy periods.

• Contribute to achieving excellent guest satisfaction and departmental targets.

• Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings where required.

• Previous hospitality, restaurant, hotel or bar experience is an advantage but may not always be essential.

• Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures is desirable.
